어느 순간 찾아온 구글 제미니(AI Gemini)

얼마 전 생소한 어플이 핸드폰에 깔려있는 것을 발견했습니다.
 
어플 이름은 제미니(Gemini). 구글에서 개발한 대화형 인공지능 챗봇이었죠.

언제 이 어플을 받았는지 기억엔 없었지만 빅스비도 되지 않는 구형 삼성갤럭시를 쓰고 있던 저였던터라 신기해하며 어플을 켰습니다.
 
사용법은 무척 간단했습니다.
궁금한걸 하단 마이크 부분을 활성화시킨 다음 물어보기만 하면 되었으니까요.
 
저의 첫 질문은 이거였습니다.
 
 
 

"제미니, 혹시 사이더스 스페이스가 어떤 기업인지 알려줄 수 있어?"

 
 
 
사이더스 스페이스(SIDU). 미국의 항공우주산업관련 기업입니다. TMI지만 제가 그때 미장 정보도 기웃거리고 있었던 중이었거든요. 머스크의 스페이스X에 사이더스 스페이스의 기술이 들어간다는 이야기가 있어서 한창 그 기업에 관심을 갖고 있었지요.
 
제 질문에 제미니는 굉장히 자연스러운 발음으로 답변을 주었습니다. 기업의 기본적인 정보에서부터 주목받는 이유, 사업 영역 등등을요. 
그런데 맨 마지막즈음 제미니가 제 눈을 의심하게 하는 이야기를 보여주고 또 들려주었습니다. 글쎄, 사이더스 스페이스가 한국 기업이라는 답변을 해주는게 아니겠어요?  
 
전 순간 당황했습니다. 미국 주식시장에 상장된 미국기업 아니었었나? 난 그럼 **김치코인에 또 투자하려한거야?
 
부랴부랴 사이더스 스페이스 관련 주식 커뮤니티와 공식 홈페이지를 찾아 들어가보았습니다. 그런데 아무리 찾아봐도 한국에서 탄생된 기업이라는 건 찾아볼 수 없었어요. 그제서야 깨달았습니다. 제미니가 잘못 알려주었다는것을요.
 
아마 제미니는 제가 한국에 있는 사람이기에, 또 한국에 사이더스 스페이스와 유사한, 혹은 같은 이름을 가진 기업의 정보가 있어 그를 알려준것 같습니다. 공교롭게도 한국에도 사이더스 스페이스라는 이름을 가진 우주산업기업이 있었나봐요.
 
아무튼 그 길로 제미니 답변에 오류가 있었음을 알리는 리포트를 보내고 제미니 탐색을 마쳤습니다. 음, AI 정보 수집은 아직 완벽하진 않군, 이란 감상과 함께 말이죠.
 
며칠 뒤, 제미니를 켜서 다시 한번 사이더스 스페이스에 대해 물어보았습니다. 과연 이번엔 제대로 답변해주려나, 하는 마음과 함께요.
 
와우, 그 사이 제미니는 학습을 다시 했나봅니다. 한국의 사이더스 스페이스를 찾으시나요, 라는 답변을 주며 한국의 사이더스(이번엔 연예기획사가 나왔습니다.)에 대해 정보를 쏟아내었습니다. 정보의 말미, 원하는 정보가 아니라면 보다 정확한 키워드를 요청해달라는 말에 저는 항공우주산업의 미국 기업 사이더스 스페이스에 대해 알려달라는 질문을 했고, 그 결과는 매우 훌륭했습니다. 짝짝짝!
 
신이 난 저는 사이더스 스페이스와 머스크의 관계, 스페이스 X와의 관계, 투자 여부 등등을 물어보았고, 제미니는 모든 질문에 훌륭한 답변을 주었습니다. 답변한 내용은 실시간으로 변동될수 있으며, 투자 조언이 아니니 투자 결정은 본인의 판단과 책임 하에 신중히 내려야한다는 진리와 함께 말이죠. 
 
그 뒤로 종종 저는 제미니를 통해 이것저것 물어보는 것에 재미가 들렸습니다. 오늘의 날씨부터 밤에 듣기 좋은 노래 추천, 김치찌개 맛있게 끓이는 법, 그리고 로또 번호 추천까지!
(다만, 로또번호 추천은 아직 구현이 되질 않았는지 몇번을 물어도 무작위번호가 123456 보너스번호7 이런식으로밖에 안나오더라구요.)
 
아무튼 요즘 하루 한번씩은 제미니를 불러보는것 같아요.
이렇듯 현재, 우리는 정말 재미있는 시대에 살고 있는 것 같습니다. 
 
 
 
 
A while ago, I found an unfamiliar app installed on my phone.

The app's name was Gemini. It was a conversational AI chatbot developed by Google.

I don't remember when I got this app, but since I was using an old Samsung Galaxy that didn't even support Bixby, I was curious and turned it on.

It was very simple to use.

I just had to activate the microphone at the bottom and ask questions.

My first question was this.

"Gemini, can you tell me what Sidus Space is?"

Sidus Space (SIDU). It's an American aerospace company. This is TMI, but I was looking into the US market at the time. There was talk that Sidus Space's technology was being used in Musk's SpaceX, so I was really interested in the company.

Gemini answered my questions with a very natural pronunciation. It covered everything from basic information about the company to why it was getting attention, its business areas, etc.

But towards the very end, Gemini showed me and told me a story that made me doubt my eyes. Well, isn’t it because Sidus Space answered that it was a Korean company?

I was momentarily flustered. Wasn’t it an American company listed on the American stock market? Was I trying to invest in **Kimchi Coin again?

I hurriedly searched for Sidus Space-related stock communities and official websites. However, no matter how much I searched, I couldn’t find anything about a company that was born in Korea. That’s when I realized. Gemini had given me the wrong information.

Perhaps Gemini told me about a company in Korea with a similar or identical name to Sidus Space because I was in Korea. Coincidentally, there was a space industry company in Korea with the name Sidus Space.

Anyway, I sent a report informing me that there was an error in Gemini’s answer and finished exploring Gemini. Well, AI information collection is not perfect yet, I thought.

A few days later, I turned on Gemini and asked about Sidus Space again. I wondered if it would answer properly this time.

Wow, Gemini must have learned again in the meantime. It answered, “Are you looking for Sidus Space in Korea?” and poured out information about Sidus (this time, it was an entertainment agency) in Korea. At the end of the information, when it said to ask for more precise keywords if it wasn’t the information you wanted, I asked about Sidus Space, an American aerospace company, and the results were excellent. Clap, clap, clap!
 
Excited, I asked about Sidus Space’s relationship with Musk, its relationship with SpaceX, whether it would invest, etc., and Gemini gave excellent answers to all of my questions. It also said that the answers can change in real time, and that it is not investment advice, so you should make investment decisions carefully at your own discretion and responsibility.

Since then, I often found it fun to ask Gemini about various things. From today's weather to song recommendations that are good to listen to at night, how to make delicious kimchi stew, and even lotto number recommendations!

(However, the lotto number recommendations haven't been implemented yet, so no matter how many times I ask, the only random numbers that come out are 123456 and bonus number 7.)

Anyway, I think I'm calling Gemini once a day these days.

As such, it seems like we're living in a really interesting time.
